Crosses for America

At Flatwoods Community Baptist Church, they are seeking to identify the Christians in the communities. They believe that placing this particular cross in your yard or on your mailbox (if you live off the main road) that you are joining in a statement of unity and solidarity, This cross also represents a physical sign that says, "There are Christians who live here and are not ashamed of the cross of Christ!" There is strength in numbers and we would like our leaders to know that we will no longer be a silent majority. What a wonderful sight it would to see cross after cross in yard after yard all across America. There has been a lack of Christian involvement in our communitites which has led to God being removed from everyday life! Because of this, our schools suffer, our courts suffer, and in general, America as we know it suffers.
Our most sacred Christian symbol, the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, has become no more than a pretty decoration. It is worn on jewerly with no reverence, it hangs on the wall in our homes with mild respect, and its place is no longer prominent among Americans. The cross has been replaced with symbols of of tolerance.  "Merry Christmas" has been replaced with "Happy Holidays."  Easter has become a more secular holiday. Prayer has been replaced with a "moment of silence." The words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance are forever under scrutiny and persecution. God's Commandments are no longer in our courtrooms, even though man's laws say the same thing. What is wrong with statements like "you shall not kill, you shall not steal, and you shall not commit adultery?"
It is time we make the cross one again the symbol of the Christian. Will you join us in our quest to boldly say: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ."

Ralph and Shirley Darch lost their home in the flood back on September 29, 2016. It destroyed their home and what was salvaged was ruined in the next days with Hurricane Matthew. God has blessed them with a new home. On February 25, some Baptist men along with some men from our church and women to help prepare food come together to help Ralph clean out his shop.
Praise God for the miracles and encouragement He sends during the darkest times.
